Embracing Elderhood at Equinox

A three-day-two-night retreat for women 55+ to explore how older and wiser plays out for you, and embrace your elderhood with positivity.

On the retreat gain insight and clarity about your ways of being, relating, serving and enjoying with:

  • morning meditation
  • sessions offered by each other
  • meditation walks
  • sharing and sisterhood
  • an invitation to times of mouna (silence in the group)

The September equinox matches a turning point in our season: ripening, harvesting, abundance to share. We can benefit from the tipping point energy to give us momentum into the next phase.

VG offers secluded spots on the land here, good vegan food, simple and cosy accommodation, time in nature and space for yourself. If the group likes, we can have a fire pit. Sweet and juicy VG grapes will be ready to eat.

How amazing was the Exploring Elderhood weekend retreat with Fiona Law at the wonderful Viveka Gardens. My first overnight-ing there and it was great. I loved getting up, my own yoga practice and then meditation together before speaking. A truly opening experience for me. Not a retreat with a hot tub, or funky activities, but good honest reflection, conversations and opportunity to turn inward and seek yourself. C, Bideford (on Caroline’s suggestion the retreat has been renamed Embracing Elderhood – brilliant!)

I had a lovely time at Viveka Garden Retreat, a perfect get away. Fiona has such a wealth of knowledge that she shared so freely, but she also held the whole experience so lovingly and effortlessly that I left feeling loved, refreshed, inspired and somehow having gained a bigger picture of the world in general. The venue was amazing as you would expect. Great yoga space and a garden teeming with life and abundance, to sit in after class to reflect and read. The food also deserves a mention as it was utterly delicious and so plentiful I turned into quite a pig! All in all an excellent experience that I highly recommend to all. S, Derby

It’s a beautiful place, well off the beaten track, and a haven of peace. Fiona is a warm and inspiring host, and we were very comfortable and well fed with delicious vegan meals made using produce Fiona had grown. The yoga space is clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was wonderful to feel so supported together in sharing teaching, practice and laughter. I felt thoroughly nourished and rested by the end. My only gripe was that the retreat was too short. Hoping to return very soon…R, Hackney previous teachers’ retreat
