Imbolc & Candlemas Day Retreat Online

This is a day of rest, processing and intuition with yin yoga, meditation walk (I’ll give you a task for you to complete in your landscape), journaling and yoga nidra.

Imbolc is the Celtic cross quarter festival between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is about the stirring of new life in the earth and the first intimations of spring. We’ll take the theme of fertile darkness. What is it gestating in you, waiting to see the light of spring?
It’s a potent moment of the year with Candlemass too; in the church festival candles symbolise Christ, light of the world, so we’ll use candles to bless ourselves with all that is positive, bringing hope and the knowledge we are loved. Also with the making of a Brigid’s cross, and a workshop to vision your next move, this will be a full, grounding and light-filled day.

For the day you will need:
• A notebook
• A yoga mat, blanket or soft surface to lie on
• A bolster or roll pillows in a towel or small blanket, or put the bundle in a pillowcase, or roll up a heavy blanket. Two such bundles would be good, but can probably manage with one especially if you are more on the short and slim side
• Yoga blocks or cushions, one firm one off the sofa too
• Yoga belt or other long belt or scarf
• eye pillow or scarf to cover your eyes (optional)
• Layers of clothes and an extra blanket for warmth
• Light lunch
Fiona is a trained and experienced facilitator of yin and nidra. Based at her Viveka Gardens Retreat Place in Mid Devon, she brings nature and season-based visualisations to nidra.
